When I connect on auto by eGPU in adapter mode, the laptop does not show my eGPU and does not even recognize that there is a GPU present. However when I unplug/put in power and connect manually to eGPU, it works like I want it to and the laptop sees it and laptop sees it.
So i just setup my big PC (Asus ROG STRIX 15.6 inch) with an external high end NVIDIA RTX2080TI, with a Radeon Pro WX770 as an eGPU and my 2018 MacBook Pro as the host, with the Nvidia 2080TI in an enclosure.BTW I want to use the eGPU for gaming as well as iMac + iMac display, but iMac + iMac display is a little bit difficult due to the lack of Thunderbolt and it works with the default eGPU + Mac display cable.I don’t need any other eGPU solution except for one, of course good eGPU overalays like the Nvidia Big Crunch Adapter and the Razer Core X is not good for my case, the Razer Core X just works on windows and mac.
But my pc does not work on OSX with the default eGPU settings, this is the reason why i bought eGPU Adapter Solo and i make it compatible with macOS.I test the eGPU on Mac with the adapter i can use my eGPU on macOS.I made some modification to the eGPU to make it work on macOS, like using a HDMI cable instead of DisplayPort and setting the bios to allow eGPU function. When i connect the eGPU to the macbook pro, the screen goes black and does not change until i press the power button to shutdown the eGPU.It seems to be the Macbook Pro is not able to support the eGPU.What should I do? d2c66b5586
